2 Timothy 3

Difficult Times Will Come

1 But realize this, that ain the last days difficult times will come. 2For people will be blovers of self, clovers of money, dboastful, earrogant, fslanderers, gdisobedient to parents, hungrateful, iunholy, 3 junloving, irreconcilable, kmalicious gossips, without self-control, brutal,
Lit not loving good
,
mhaters of good,
4 ntreacherous, oreckless, pconceited, qlovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5holding to a form of
Or religion
,
sgodliness although they have tdenied its power; uavoid such people as these.
6For among them are those who
Or creep into
,
wslip into households and captivate
Or idle
,
yweak women weighed down with sins, led on by zvarious impulses,
7always learning and never able to aacome to the
Or recognition
knowledge of the truth.
8Just as acJannes and Jambres adopposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, aemen of depraved mind,
Or unfit
worthless in regard to the faith.
9But they will not make further progress; for their agfoolishness will be obvious to all, just ahas was that also of
Lit those
Jannes and Jambres.

10 Now you ajfollowed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, aklove,
Or steadfastness
perseverance,
11 ampersecutions, and ansufferings, such as happened to me at aoAntioch, at apIconium, and at aqLystra; what arpersecutions I endured, and out of them all asthe Lord rescued me! 12Indeed, all who want to live in a godly way in Christ Jesus atwill be persecuted. 13But evil people and impostors auwill proceed from bad to worse, avdeceiving and being deceived. 14You, however, awcontinue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15and that axfrom childhood you have known aythe sacred writings which are able to azgive you the wisdom that leads to basalvation through faith which is in bbChrist Jesus. 16 bcAll Scripture is
Lit God-breathed
inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for
Or reprimand
rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness;
17so that bfthe man or woman of God may be
Or proficient
fully capable, bhequipped for every good work.
